_Every client gets a login to their own jobs, waste, manifests and invoices. Commercial clients request service and characterize their own waste in the portal._

# Your clients stop emailing you for their own paperwork.

The answer to "can you send me last March's manifests" is already on their screen. Every client gets a login to their own records — what they generated, every manifest, every invoice — and the commercial ones can ask for service and characterize their own waste before you ever pick up the phone.

## What a client sees.

### Programs
- **Their jobs**, with the date, the site, what was collected and where it went.
- **Their waste**, stream by stream, with the line items behind the totals.
- **Every manifest**, with its tracking number, searchable. Not a filing cabinet.
- **Their invoices, with the lines behind them** — and they can pay there.
- **Their year, exported** — a report or a spreadsheet, not an inbox.

### Generators
- **They request the service themselves**, naming the site and the streams.
- **They fill in the material profile** for whatever they're generating — the characterization starts on their side, with their own knowledge of the material.
- **That submission arrives as a quote to be priced.** It walks the same road as a quote you started: priced, sent, decided. You see where it came from on the record.
- **Every manifest, with its tracking number**, from every pickup.
- **Their invoices and their line items** — payable there.

## The invoice, with the lines behind it.

The client sees the same number the report shows and the bill charges, waste by waste on the basis it bills on, PaintCare stated separately — and pays it there.

> The paperwork request stops arriving.

> The characterization starts with the person who knows the material.

> A service request arrives as a record rather than a voicemail.

## Not a contractor?
- **For municipal and county programs** Your program's numbers, every manifest and every invoice, in one login — if your collection contractor runs on Mercovi. [Read the program page](/client-portal/programs)
- **For commercial and industrial generators** Request the pickup and characterize the waste yourself — if your waste vendor runs on Mercovi. [Read the generator page](/client-portal/generators)

## Asked by clients.

### What does a client see in the portal?

Their jobs with the date, site, what was collected and where it went; their waste stream by stream with the line items behind the totals; every manifest with its [tracking number](/glossary#mtn); their invoices with the lines behind them, payable there; and their year exported as a report or a spreadsheet.

### Is the number in the portal the same as the invoice?

Yes. The [close-out](/platform/billing) creates the bill, the [report](/platform/reports) prices the client's wastes at exactly what the bill charges, and the portal shows the client that same number. None of the three is retyped from another, so a program reconciling an invoice against its year-end report is reading one record in two places.

### Can a commercial client request a pickup from the portal?

Yes. They name the site and the streams and fill in the [material profile](/platform/profiles) for what they generate. The submission arrives at the contractor as a quote to be priced, walking the same road as any other quote: priced, sent, approved or declined.
